What is permanent makeup?

Permanent Makeup, also known as Semi-Permanent Makeup or Micropigmentation, is a form of cosmetic tattooing where pigment is implanted into the upper layer of the skin, using a digital machine and a fine needle cartridge. The digital machine method is gentle on the skin and produces long-lasting results, that will fade gradually over time.

People have permanent makeup for all different reasons. One of the most popular is to save time on daily makeup routines but these treatments are also used for people with hair loss conditions. Many different styles and shapes can be created with permanent makeup. Eyebrows can be filled in with hair strokes to create a natural look or powder/combination brows are perfect for those who prefer more definition.

Before any permanent cosmetics treatment is undertaken on you, Jenna will need to know a little more about you. There are certain medical conditions she will need to know about, which will be asked by way of a health questionnaire before you come for your appointment. Aftercare is also discussed prior to the treatment and then provided in a leaflet for you to take home after your appointment.

Does it hurt?

Topical anaesthetic is used prior to treatment to numb the skin and re-applied during the treatment for a comfortable experience.

Do I have to come back after my first treatment?

Permanent makeup is a two-part treatment. After your first appointment , it is essential that you come back for your touch-up appointment, around 6-8 weeks later.  The touch-up appointment will allow Jenna to perfect your brows and is included in the price. After this, a colour boost appointment is recommended every 12-18 months.

How long does it last?

It is recommended that you return for a colour boost within 12-18 months of having the initial treatment. This will keep your colour fresh and your brows defined.

Is it safe?

Jenna is professionally trained and fully insured. Treatments are carried out in a sterile environment and all safety procedures are adhered to. Aftercare advice is also provided to help you to care for the treated area post-treatment.
